So I grabbed Asterisk 18.2.0 today and noticed that prproject is “not” part of the asterisk tar.gz

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/asterisk/third-party/master/pjproject/2.10/pjproject-2.10.tar.bz2

Why is that ? I have times when some customers do not have internet access to download “other” files. The file typically has to be brought on site with a CD or something.

Can the proproject be included ?
if not – where do I place the prproject so it does not attempt to download and just uses it.

  • It’s a compromise for the various parties who use Asterisk. In the case of the normal user base, most are on internet connected devices so it can download. For packagers they provide their own, and frown upon embedding source code of other projects. For cases where downloading is not desired a mechanism (linked below) is provided.

The wiki has information on an externals cache[1] or another mechanism where the pjproject files that would be downloaded can be placed so they aren’t.
