Hello,

Using Ubuntu Server 12.04 and Asterisk 11.2.1.

I’m getting the following error when trying to start asterisk:
(Syslog) kernel: [ 1032.713864] asterisk[26918] trap invalid opcode ip:7fc272923076 sp:7fff928cf1b0 error:0 in codec_ilbc.so[7fc272921000+e000]

We were running Asterisk on a physical box, but moved it to a virtual environment. That went fine. Asterisk started normally and calls were also processed like usual. Then we moved Asterisk to a new virtual environment. That’s when we starting getting this error.

The first VM was ESXi (Free version). The second VM was again ESXi (but the licensed version). We used the VMWare converter to migrate from the Free to the Licensed environment.

After we moved Asterisk from the first to the second VM and tried starting it, we got the following message:

root@Asterisk01:~# service asterisk start
* Starting Asterisk PBX: asterisk Illegal instruction (core dumped)

I recompiled Asterisk and tried again. Now I just get:
root@Asterisk01:~# service asterisk start
* Starting Asterisk PBX: asterisk

But during the compiling of asterisk I got these messages:
../src/pj/os_core_unix.c: In function
