You have to hang up the phone too.

Starting things off without a Dial Tone

Is it possible to make Asterisk jump into action and play a sound file as soon as a handset is lifted, instead of providing a Dial Tone and waiting for the user to dial an extension.

With analog phones (chan_dahdi) – you just have to set ‘immediate = yes’ in chan_dahdi.conf , with a SIP phone: that’s something to configure the handset for, as it only sends out a call once you “dialed”.

Connecting to Cisco Iad2430 to Asterisk

Is it possible to SIP trunk to this Cisco device so that phones connected to the Cisco box can dial extensions on the Asterisk box?

What I would like to be able to do is dial some extension(s) on phones connected to the Cisco box and have the call routed into extension(s) on the Asterisk box.

One of our clients has a call center with 65 analog phones connected to the Cisco box. We would like to be able add our dialer appliance into their operation without having to replace any more equipment than needed.

We need an easy way for the agents to connect to an extension on our appliance that basically does an agentlogin.

Ideas as to how to best accomplish this would be appreciated.

Panasonic KX-TGP500 w/Asterisk

Has anybody have any experience using the KX-TGP500 Cordless DEC 6.0
“System” with asterisk ?

I run a small asterisk server at home using two SPA3102s, and thinking of
upgrading my cordless analog phones to something a little newer.
